Domainers.org
I received an email from Francois this morning letting me know that he’s launched a first mockup of what will be a domainer yellow pages site at Domainers.org. As an example, you can see Francois’ profile here: http://www.domainers.org/search/?q=Francois+Carrillo. Any information you’d like to add to Domainers.org can be done from your Domaining.com account under the “edit account” setting. I look forward to seeing how Domainers.org progresses and having another valuable resource like Domaining.com has been in helping domainers stay better connected.

I think it’s a great idea and would like to see what Francois has planned. Will people be able to search descriptions or just names? Will there be a browseable directory? Site looks good so far.

The first step is see what happen:
Are domainers these people that a lot say they want to stay hide?
I got few emails asking me to remove immediately their names because domainers are associated to most people to cybersquatters and even if they are not doing any black hat domaining they don’t want be associated with these people.
But it was a minority.
A lot said thanks and was happy about the launch of a similar site.
What I noticed is just few posted theyr face image and such site is only interesting if one can see the faces.
To motivate domainers posting their faces many things will be done.
The first I did is warly recommend on Twitter domainers that edit their profiles and posted their face image.
But I can consider others actions like feature them in domaining.com or even do a weekly lottery exclusively to domainers that listed and fully posted their entire profile.
Find domainers by name or twitter name is cool but more searches must be added, it’s in my TODO list.
It should be more interesting to have a guide and not allways have to search a specific domainer.
So as soon I estimate enough domainers edited their profile I will put it available.
What I have been created today is just the core.
I want to offer to each domainer a way to talk about their sites, services, … and help them promote them.
There are a lot of great people in our community (like Mark and you) and it’s really exciting to try to build something that will put in light these domainers.
Stay tuned, and thanks a lot for the post Reece.
I hope others will do the same as even it’s great to give is also motivating to receive.
